Jessica Marie Alba, an American actress and businesswoman. At thirteen, she began acting in television and movies. She was first seen in Camp Nowhere (1994) and The Secret World of Alex Mack (1994). However, her rise to fame at 19 when she became the main actress in Dark Angel (2000-2002), which was nominated for an award called a Golden Globe. Her big screen breakthrough came in Honey (2003). She quickly became a Hollywood actress, and has starred in numerous box office hits throughout her career, including Fantastic Four (2005), Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), Good Luck Chuck (2007), The Eye (2008), Valentine's Day (2010), Little Fockers (2010) and Mechanic: Resurrection (2016). 9She is a frequent collaborator with Robert Rodriguez. She has been in Sin City (2005) and Machete (2010). Alba starred in Spectrum's action-crime series L.A. Finest from 2019 to 2020. In 2011, Alba co-founded The Honest Company which is a consumer goods business that offers baby, personal and household products.Magazines such as Men's Health, Vanity Fair and FHM have featured her on their lists of world's most beautiful women. Jessica Marie Alba was born in Pomona, California, on April 28, 1981, to Catherine Louisa (nee Jensen) and Mark David Alba. Her maternal grandparents, both Mexican immigrants, are of Danish, Welsh German, English and French heritage. She has a younger brother, Joshua. Gustavo Arellano, her third cousin, is also her first cousin. Her father was an Air Force pilot and took the family to Biloxi (Mississippi) and Del Rio (Texas), before returning to Claremont in California at nine years of age. Alba said that her family was considered to be "very conservative - a tradition, Catholic, Latin American and Latin American family" while she described herself as a liberal. Alba says she was already an "feminist", at age five.
